Physical Therapist - Swain

Swain Community Hospital, located in Bryson City, NC in western North Carolina near Western Carolina University, is hiring Physical Therapy staff member primarily in fast-paced Outpatient settings with one-on-one patient treatments focused on providing excellent patient care with a collaborative atmosphere, encouraging sharing and mentorship. We have a long-standing reputation for high quality individualized patient care. The position would include minimal acute care patient responsibilities. There are 4 outpatient therapy locations, including Harris Regional Hospital, Swain Community Hospital, Harris Medical Park of Franklin, and on the campus of Western Carolina University in the new Health and Human Sciences building. Our patient demographics include primarily orthopedics and neurology, with staff specializations in orthopedics, pediatrics, neurology, vestibular, lymphedema, geriatrics, kinesio taping, dry needling, and aquatics. At our Cullowhee clinic, we are able to offer aquatic therapy. We have close proximity with our referring physicians, Western Carolina University's Doctoral or Physical Therapy Program, and Southwestern Community College's Physical Therapy Assistant Program that allows for multiple education opportunities. We are interested in growing our therapy staff and will accept applicants with experience and new graduates which are interested in joining our therapy team.
License: Physical Therapy license in North Carolina required
Other Qualifications:
1. maintain current NC Driver's License with motor vehicle record acceptable to system's auto liability insurance carrier if required to drive on business.
2. BLS certification is required to be maintained. Must be American Heart Association.
Physically, the PT is required to assist in moving and lifting patients; to push/pull heavy objects (e.g. wheelchairs or stretchers); to stay on his/her feet for long periods; to bend and stoop; and to reach above shoulder height. Patients may vary in size from as little as 80 pounds, to as large as 300 pounds, and may be totally dependent in all aspects of daily living or relatively independent. There is limited exposure to infectious materials and diseases.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
